Cabin #2: click here for floor plan

We have two cabins of similar size, about 700 sq ft each.  Both have a nice view of the large, tranquil pond pictured on the home page.  Both cabins have fully-furnished kitchens (table & chairs, sinks, full-size refrigerators, microwave ovens, coffee makers, 4-burner electric stovetops, as well as dishes, glasses, silverware, pots & pans and various utensils) and bathrooms with flush toilets, stall showers, and of course, hot & cold running water.  Each cabin can sleep 4 people, in a double bed and two twin beds.  Cabin #1 has two bedrooms.  Cabin #2 has all three beds in a large, "bunkhouse" style bedroom.  Bed linens and towels are included.  Click on the pictures above for a look at the floor plan of each cabin.  Both cabins have an efficient, clean, odorless, completely vented propane heating system that will keep you warm and cozy in cold weather.  In the summer, the many nearby trees cool the cabins naturally.  Feel free to bring electric fans if you wish.  Some outdoor chairs and picnic tables are provided as well.

Cabin #1 is an authentic 50+ year old log cabin.  The exterior has been painted khaki tan and hunter green, and the interior is pale yellow with khaki tan and hunter green accents.  Cabin #2 has a rough-sawn natural spruce split-log exterior and a new dark brown metal roof (you'll have to take our word for it until we get a new picture - we've had many compliments on it).  It has a similar color scheme inside as Cabin #1.  Both cabins have an overstuffed easy chair or two.  We think they have a comfortable, homey feel and a "mini-lodge" look.  There is a picnic table and a charcoal grill for each cabin - BYO charcoal and grill brush if you want to use a grill.  Other than that, all you need to bring is your clothing, toiletries, food, and what ever outdoor gear you need.  Both cabins share a fire pit with seating adjacent to Cabin #2, overlooking the pond.  The cabin property adjoins the Manistee National Forest where you can forage for fallen firewood, or bring your own.  Sometimes we have free firewood available for your use, but no guarantees are made!  We don't have TV in the cabins, but most of our outdoor-loving guests don't seem to mind.  If you have any questions, please email or call us (231)723-9003.  Please call between 9:00am and 11:00pm ET.  We like to sleep!

RATES: We have a two-night minimum for any stay.  Our very reasonable nightly rates, per cabin, including 6% Michigan Use Tax, are: 1-2 people, $63.60; 3 people, $79.50; and 4 people, $95.40.  When you call to book your stay, we require your credit card information (Visa, MasterCard or Discover) to guarantee your reservation.  Alternatively, if your stay is at least a month into the future, you may send us a check for the first night's stay as a guarantee for your reservation.  Either way, please call us to book your reservation (231-723-9003) any day between 9:00 am and 11:00 pm Eastern Time.  We do not maintain a 24 hour 'reservation desk' - so if you call after 11:00 pm, you'll probably get the answer machine.   Since our rates are so reasonable, (still the same since 1998) we do not offer any discounts for extended stays.

We accept cash, MasterCard, Visa or Discover for final payment.  Cancellation policy: Notify us by 6:00pm three days prior to your arrival date to avoid a cancellation fee, which is equal your deposit.

We have had a "No indoor smoking" policy since we opened in 1998.  It keeps the cabins clean and fresh-smelling for all our guests.

Housebroken pets are welcome.  No extra charge for pets, we just ask that you clean up after them.

USE OUR MAP BELOW: We are located between Manistee and Wellston, about 5 miles south of M-55,

about a mile north of Nine Mile Bridge over the Little Manistee River (all roads are paved until you get to Madison):

SPECIAL NOTE: Don't rely on Google Maps, Mapquest, or your GPS system to find us, they use outmoded street names and send you on some unimproved 'two-tracks' which can be "challenging" to navigate, even with 4WD.  Don't get stranded or stuck!  Please print our map below:

We're easy to find: If you're coming from the east, use Udell (you-dell) Hills Road; if from the west, use S. Skocelas (scotch-less)
